| NORTH ANDOVER, MA – The Merrimack College men’s lacrosse team improved its record to 6-2 on Wednesday evening by picking up a 17-7 win over Saint Anselm College at Warrior Field. Junior Greg Rogowski (Cohoes, NY) scored five goals for the Warriors, while classmate Jo Pisano (Dedham, MA) contributed three goals and two assists. Rogowski opened the scoring just 18 seconds into the game, and added another goal less than a minute later. The Warriors opened the game on a 5-0 run, and after Pisano completed the hat-trick with 18 seconds remaining in the second quarter, Merrimack held an 8-4 advantage at halftime. The Warrior backfield did not allow the Hawks many shots, as the visitors managed just 12 shots on goal, with eight of them coming in the second half. Sophomore Cory Spinale (Wakefield, MA) turn aside five Hawk shots, starting his eighth straight game in goal. The team will return to action on Saturday when they will hit the road for Manchester, NH, and will take on Southern New Hampshire University at 1 p.m. |
