Merrimack vs. Saint Michael's

The Game Story:
NORTH ANDOVER, MA – The Merrimack College men’s lacrosse team, ranked seventh in this week’s Laxnews.com poll, earned an 8-7 win over Saint Michael’s College on Saturday afternoon at Warrior Field. Junior Greg Rogowski (Cohoes, NY) scored three goals and added two assists for the Warriors, who improve to 9-2 on the season.

Freshman Michael Balbuena (Falmouth, MA) opened the scoring just under five minutes into the contest, picking up his 13th goal of the season. Merrimack extended the lead to 3-0, and was up 6-2 going into halftime.

Senior Kyle Beaudoin (Acton, MA) notched a pair of goals on the day, and Rogowski’s 33rd tally of the year, which came with 9:47 remaining in the fourth quarter, proved to be the game winner for the Warriors. Sophomore Cory Spinale (Wakefield, MA) had another solid performance in the Merrimack net, turning aside 18 shots on goal.

The Warriors will play again on Tuesday, when they will host American International College at 4 p.m. Prior to the game, Merrimack will honor its 10 seniors.
