Pace vs. Molloy

The Game Story:
PLEASANTVILLE, NY- James Hammel (North Caldwell, NJ/West Essex) netted four goals and one assist to lead the Setters past Molloy 13-7 in non-conference action at Pace Field in Pleasantville. The Setters improve to 4-3 overall, while the Lions drop to 4-5 on the season.

The Setters raced out to an early 5-0 lead as Jake Sheppard (Brunswick East, Melbourne, Victoria, Australia/Northcote) led the way with a pair of goals in key the early Pace advantage. Molloy rallied with a pair of goals late in the opening half to trail 5-2.

The Setters would face a three minute man-down situation following an equipment violation and Molloy would take advantage, scoring twice during the penalty to slice the Pace lead to one at 5-4 with 13:14 left in the third quarter.

Pace would respond with six unanswered goals as Justin Page (Eagan, MN/Eagan) scored a pair and T.J. Urban (Kinnelon, NJ/Kinnelon) tallied three assists to give Pace 11-4 lead early in the fourth quarter. The Setters would cruise the rest of the way and win 13-7.

For Pace, Hammel's five points (4G-1A) and Urban five assists on the day led a powerful Setters offensive attack. Page finished with four points (3G-1A), while Sheppard totaled three goal and Ryan Gregory (Bethpage, NY/Bethpage) chipped in three points (1G-2A). In the net, Timothy Matheis (Lindenhurst, NY/Lindenhurst) turned in another spectacular performance, recording 14 saves on the day.

Pace returns to action when on Saturday, April 5 when they will host Northeast-10 Conference foe Assumption College at 1:00 pm at Pace Field in Pleasantville.
