| MANCHESTER, NH - Sophomore Bryan Kaufmann (Putnam Valley, NY) scored four goals while classmate Kevin Hoagland (Glastonbury, Conn.) added two scores to help lead the Bryant University men's lacrosse team to an 11-5 Northeast-10 Conference win at Saint Anselm Saturday afternoon. The win, Bryant's eighth-straight, improves the Bulldogs record to 8-2 on the season (7-0 in NE-10) play heading into Tuesday's game at Merrimack College. Against Saint Anselm on Saturday, the Bulldogs fell behind 2-0 midway through the first quarter, but goals by Corey Crosbie (Salem, Mass.) and Brad Burton (Hauppauge, NY) helped pull the Bulldogs even with the Hawks with under four minutes left to play in the quarter. Saint Anselm (4-7, 2-5 NE-10) would got back up by one thanks to a Steve Trocki unassisted goal a minute later, but Kaufmann was there to answer, scoring with 1:01 left in the quarter on an assist from Bryan Molk (Peabody, Mass.). Bryant would score the only two goals of the second, one by Kaufmann and one from Hoagland to take a 5-3 lead into halftime, but in the second half, the Bulldogs would score five unanswered goals, two on the man advantage, to put the game away. Kaufmann would tally a pair in the quarter while Jim Long (Durham, NH) and Zach Rosenow (Oyster Bay, NY) would add goals to help propel the offense. Michael Kennedy (Port Jefferson Station, NY) finished with 10 saves in the game as Bryant out-shot the Hawks 46 to 26 in the game. Tuesday's game at Merrimack is a makeup from two earlier postponements due to rain. Face-off Tuesday in North Andover, Mass. is at 7 p.m. |
