The Game Story:
COLCHESTER, VT Ė With three goals from junior Matt Chadderdon (Auburn, NY / Auburn) and senior Keith Vetter (Jamesville, N.Y./Jamesville-Dewitt), the #2 ranked Le Moyne lacrosse team cruised to a 11-5 victory over Saint Michaelís on Friday afternoon. The win improves the Dolphins to a perfect 8-0, 5-0 NE-10 on the season and marked the 150th career victory by head coach Dan Sheehan. The Purple Knights fall to 2-4, 1-2 in conference action.

Vetterís unassisted goal 2:07 into the first period gave the Dolphins and early 1-0 advantage. Following a Saint Michaelís goal by Sean Leahy at the 5:56 mark, Le Moyne proceeded to rattle off three consecutive goals in a little more than three minutes to take a 4-1 lead. The Purple Knights closed within two at 4-2 on a goal from Charlie Niznansky at the 6:17 mark of the second quarter. Junior Jack Harmatuk (Syracuse, N.Y./Christian Brothers Academy) extended his consecutive goal streak to 23 games with a goal from Vinnie Alexander (Syracuse, N.Y./Westhill) with 5:21 remaining in the first half to give the Dolphins a 5-2 into the intermission.

Saint Michaelís opened the scoring in the third period on a goal from Andy Buccellato to close the gap to 5-3. Following a man-up goal at the 4:19 mark by Vetter, the Dolphins added two more quick goals by Jack Venditti (Baldwinsville, N.Y./C.W. Baker) and Nick DiSarro (Niskayuna, N.Y./Niskayuna) to take an 8-3 lead into the final period.

A Purple Knights man-up goal by Peter Donnally cut the lead back to four at 8-4, but Le Moyne put the game out of reach with three consecutive goals by Chadderdon, Vetter and Mike Rabbitt (Simsbury, Conn./Simsbury).

The Dolphins held a commanding 61-20 advantage shots and won 15-of-19 face-offs on the day.

In goal, freshman Jeff White (Buffalo, N.Y./Canisius HS) recorded six saves on the day. For Saint Michaelís, Zach Jandle registered 23 saves between the pipes.

Le Moyne has won 41 consecutive regular season games and returns to action on Saturday, April 10th as they host Merrimack (r/v) at 1:00 PM.
