The Game Story:
The Cardinal Lacrosse team improves to 3-1 with an 11-6 win in the home opener Sunday against Wittenberg University. Jack Malone (Jr., Farmington Hills, MI) led the way, scoring four goals and adding one assist. John Dunbar (Jr., Eagan, MN) had a three goal performance and Kyle Lucas (Fr., Dublin, OH) threw in two. John Miller (Sr., Kent, OH) started the scoring attack with his only goal of the afternoon and Phil Mergner (So., Hollywood, MD) scored the parting shot with 12 seconds remaining in regulation.

Wittenberg started the scoring and led 2-1 at the end of the first period. The Cardinals bounced back in the second period scoring three straight and taking a 5-3 lead into halftime.

The Cardinals scored 16 seconds into the second half, stretching the lead to three. Wittenberg scored two goals, cutting the lead to one. Kyle Lucas answered the Tiger attack, scoring with 6:42 remaining in the third period. Shortly after, Malone tossed in his third goal of the day and extending the Cardinal lead to three. The Cardinals added three in the fourth to claim the 11-6 victory.

Goalie Joe Sims (Jr., Dublin, OH) finished the day with 11 saves on 28 shots.

The Cardinals will be home on Thursday, March 19th hosting Leas-McRae College at 4 pm.
