The Game Story:
Wingate, N.C.----Saint Vincent College attackmen[LINK] Evan[LINK]
Chatauneuf and Bart Costello had three goals and one assist each as the
Bearcats edged Wingate University 13-12 Wednesday afternoon at Irwin
Belk Stadium and John R. Martin Field on the Wingate[LINK] campus.

Wingate jumped out to a 5-2 lead in the first quarter on the back of
senior attack Julio Diaz-Jane (Miami, Fla.), who scored the Bulldogs
first three goals. The second quarter was all Bearcats as they shutout
the Bulldogs and tied the game up 5-5 at halftime.

The Bearcats scored with five seconds to play in the third quarter to
take a 9-8 lead. Saint Vincent led the rest of the game going up by as
many as three in the fourth quarter. The Bulldogs fought back and cut
the lead down to one on an unassisted goal by freshmen attack Kyle
Costello (Wilmington, N.C.) with 3:02 left in the game, but could not
muster a game tying goal in the remaining time.

Saint Vincent outshot Wingate 33-23. For Wingate, senior attack
Diaz-Jane made his presence felt after sitting out the 2004 season as he
scored three goals and dished out an assist to lead Wingate.

Saint Vincent sophmore goalkeeper Alden Ainsworth had 3 saves. Wingate
freshmen netminder David Suthers (Manassas, Va.) had thirteen saves and
gave up thirteen goals in his college debut.
