|No. 8 Men's Lacrosse Edges Southern New Hampshire, 9-8|

MANCHESTER, N.H. (March, 13, 2013) – Eighth-ranked LIU Post edged out Southern New Hampshire University, 9-8, in a non-conference men's lacrosse clash Wednesday afternoon on Larkin Field.
LIU Post improves to 4-1 overall while SNHU slips to 0-4.
Freshman midfielder Anthony Berardis (Mahopac, N.Y.) led the attack with four goals while freshman Matty Beccaris (North Babylon, N.Y.) added three for the Pioneers.
Southern New Hampshire took a 1-0 lead early in the first quarter after Corey Allen scored an extra-man goal at 11:20.
The Pioneers responded with a pair of unanswered scores in the quarter, beginning with a goal from Berardis at 8:46 on a quick shot out front followed by a goal from Beccaris at 6:11.
The Penmen regained the lead in the second quarter with two back-to-backs from Allen and Rob Murray. The Pioneers reclaimed their advantage with scores from Becardis at 1:46 and Beccaris with 10 seconds remaining in the half.
LIU Post extended its lead to 6-4 after another set from Beccaris (man-up goal) and Berardis. Berardis scored his fourth goal unassisted at 5:41. The Penmen added three in the quarter and trailed 7-6 heading into the fourth.
In the fourth quarter, the Pioneers got help with a pair of goals from freshman attacker Anthony DeLuca (West Islip, N.Y.) at 12:55 and 10:32 to boost their lead to 9-6.
SNHU rallied for two more goals from John Cuozzo and Murray but were unable to close the gap.
Senior goalkeeper Tim Bradley (Wantagh, N.Y.) made six saves in goal for the win.
Murray led the Penmen with three goals. Goalkeepers Crosby Nicholson and Morgan weirteter combined to make 14 saves.
LIU Post finished the game outshooting SNHU, 42-23 and held a 19-18 advantage on ground balls.
The Pioneers are back in action on Saturday, March 16 against Roberts Wesleyan University at 12 p.m. on Hickox Field.
