| #6 MEN’S LACROSSE OPENS SEASON WITH 15-10 WIN AT #11 SETON HILL BEHIND THREE GOALS FROM CONNORS Greensburg, Pa. – Senior attackman Sean Connors (Camillus, N.Y./Marcellus) scored a career-high three goals to lead the sixth-ranked Le Moyne College men's lacrosse team to a 15-10 win over 11th-ranked Seton Hill in the season opener for both teams on Saturday afternoon. After the teams were tied at seven at the half, the Dolphins outscored the Griffins, 8-3, in the second half for the victory. With the win, the Dolphins have won their season opener each of the last 13 seasons. Junior midfielder Aaron Cahill (Schenectady, N.Y./Guilderland/Onondaga C.C.), sophomore midfielder Andrew Chadderdon (Auburn, N.Y./Auburn) and freshman midfielder Alec Westerhoff (Lagrange, Ill./Lyons Township/Bridgton Academy) each scored a pair of goals. The Dolphins got single goals from graduate student midfielder Tyler Sennett (Syracuse, N.Y./Nottingham), senior midfielder Taylor Brooks (Cypress, Texas/Cy-Fair), junior attackmen Nate Frechette (Manlius, N.Y./Christian Brothers Academy) and Justin DePalma (Manlius, N.Y./Fayetteville-Manlius/Sacred Heart), junior midfielder Doug Bailey (Syracuse, N.Y./Christian Brothers Academy) and sophomore midfielder Kam Bumpus (Marshfield, Mass./Needham/Bridgton Academy). Seton Hill was led in the loss by Matt Delmonico, who tallied four goals. James Delaney and Jimmy Cogley each scored twice for the Griffins. Dylan Lefebrve and Greg Chaples scored a goal apiece to close out the scoring. Le Moyne (1-0) returns home to face first-year program and future Northest-10 Conference foe Saint Rose on Saturday at 12:00 p.m. |
