The Griffins men’s lacrosse team played host to Dominican College on Sunday afternoon in their last game of the season. The Griffins pounced all over the Chargers defeating them 26-4. With the win Seton Hill finishes the season with a 12-4 overall record and a 7-3 ECC conference record. In the first quarter the Griffins got on the board first scoring three goals within the first minutes of action taking a quick 3-0 lead. Dominican answered back with a goal minutes later to make it a 3-1 game. However, it was all Seton Hill from that point on. The Griffins scored 6 more goals before the end of the first quarter increasing their advantage 9-1. In the second quarter Seton Hill was able to put five shots in the back of the net in the first five minutes of play extending the lead once again 14-1 at the 10:57 mark. Dominican then hit a little run scoring two goals making the score 14-3. The Griffins would finish out the quarter with three more goals entering halftime up 17-3. In the third the Griffins scored another four goals before Dominican College was able to put one past the keeper to make it a 21-4 game. In the fourth quarter Seton Hill added five more tallies to the scoreboard earning a 26-4 victory. Dylan Lefebrve led the Griffin offense with 4 goals. Kevin Welty added 3 goals. Greg Chaples, Matt Delmonico, Trevor Cry, James Delaney, Brian Barnes, and Jimmy Cogley all contributed 2 goals. Delaney recorded 6 assists and Delmonico earned 5 assists for the day. |
