| Griffins Win 11th in a Row Defeating Rollins 18-8 4/19/2013 6:40:00 PM Box Score On Friday afternoon the Griffins hosted Rollins College. Seton Hill dominated play throughout the entire contest and earned the 18-8 victory. With the win the Griffins improve to 12-1 overall. In the first quarter the Griffins struck first scoring goals from James Delaney and Matt Delmonico taking a 2-0 lead at the 8:06. The Tars managed to score two minutes later to put them on the board 2-1. The Griffins answered back with a goal from Jack Miller and one by Dylan Gelven ending the first quarter with a 4-1 lead. The second quarter was all Seton Hill as Delmonico netted another two goals and Marc Piche buried two shots behind the keeper to give the Griffins a 8-1 advantage going into halftime. To start the third quarter Seton Hill scored the first 5 goals increasing their lead 13-1. Rollins stopped the Griffins scoring run at the 5:32 mark when they scored making it a 13-2 contest. Seton Hill then scored one minute later on a goal by Brian Barnes assisted by Cody Golon making it 14-2. The Tars slipped one more goal in ending the third quarter trailing the Griffins 14-3. In the fourth Rollins started off with a goal 1:30 into action. Seton then scored the next three goals making it a 17-4 game with 10:29 left on the clock. The Tars put two more shots in the net two minutes later closing the gap 17-6. Seton Hill retaliated with a goal and Rollins scored another two goals before the final buzzer sounded giving the Griffins a 18-8 victory. Matt Delmonico led the Griffin offense scorning 3 goals and earning 1 assist. Marc Piche, Erik Hultgren, Jack Miller, and Dylan Lefebvre all added 2 goals apiece. Taylor Mansfield added 5 assists in the game. In the net Christopher Ilse recorded 10 saves. Seton Hill will resume play on April 27th, when they host Mercyhurst at 1:00PM |
