Seton Hill vs. Lake Erie

The Game Story:
The first playoff contest in the history of the Seton Hill men's lacrosse program will not go down in the books as one to remember as the Griffins were eliminated from the first ECAC Tournament following a loss to number three seed Lake Erie by the score of 12-10. The Griffins had defeated Lake Erie earlier in the season by a 16-8 score. SHU falls to 12-3 on the season and now must await their fate for the NCAA Tournament as the selections will be announced on Sunday evening.

Lake Erie scored the first goal of the contest but the Griffins responded with three straight power play goals to take a 3-1 lead with 8:38 to play in the first. Matt Delmonico scored twice and Marc Piche added the other goal. LEC cut the lead to 3-2 before James Delaney scored to push the lead back to 4-2 with 6:05 to play in the first. The Storm scored the last two goals of the quarter to tie the score at four. Lake Erie outscored the Griffins 2-1 in the second quarter to take a 6-5 halftime lead.

Dylan Lefebvre score twice to open the second half, giving the Griffins their final lead of the contest at 7-6. LEC scored three straight to take a 9-7 lead. Dylan Gelven scored to cut the lead to 9-8 with 2:07 to play in the third. Lake Erie scored with 1:05 to play in the third to give the Storm a 10-8 lead entering the fourth quarter. The Griffins tied the score at 10 with 8:24 to play in the fourth. James Delaney and Zach Hartman each scored to tie the score. LEC scored 24 seconds later to take a 11-10 lead. The Storm closed the scoring with a goal with 25 seconds to play in the game.

Matt Delmonico scored 3 times and added 3 assists. James Delaney and Dylan Lefebvre each added 2 goals.
