Mesa vs. Lindenwood

The Game Story:
The Lindenwood men's lacrosse team fell to Colorado Mesa on Friday night in Grand Junction, Colo. The Lions led on three separate occasions by lost by a 5-4 margin.

The two teams traded goals for the first quarter and the score was tied 2-2 after 15 minutes. Neither team scored again until the third quarter. That period, both teams scored two more times and the game entered the final quarter with the contest tied at four.

Colorado Mesa took the lead less than four minutes into the fourth quarter. That turned out to be the game-winning goal as the Mavericks' defense allowed just one shot for the rest of the game.

The difference in the game was in extra-man opportunities. Lindenwood had two attempts while up a man but did not score. Colorado Mesa was two-of-three in extra-man opportunities, with one of the goals being the game-winner.

Lindenwood's goals came from Grame Hossack, Greg Cameron, Joe Roy, and Carter McCracken. John Pettis and Josh Arras each earned an assist. Dan Ashlock made five saves in goal and also had a team-high five groundballs. Daniel Strike and Brandon Lenz each had a team-high two forced turnovers.
