|Rome, Ga. – The Millsaps Majors Men's Lacrosse Team traveled to Georgia on Thursday evening as they took on NAIA school Shorter. The Majors fell behind early on, but fought back in the second half before eventually falling to the Hawks 18-8. The Majors fall to 0-4 on the young season.|
Millsaps fell behind 5-0 early on in the first quarter before sophomore Hunter Stevison came through with the first goal of the game for the Majors. However, the Hawks then added six unanswered goals to take an 11-1 lead. But, the Majors finished the half with goals from Stevison and sophomore Brandon Allison cut the deficit to 11-3.
The Majors then made it a 12-4 game after freshman Scott Budd found the back of the net. After two goals by Shorter, Millsaps responded with four unanswered goals from Stevison, Allison, and sophomore Ryan McKay to make it a 15-8 game in the fourth quarter. However, the Hawks pulled away to take the 18-8 win.
Both Stevison and Allison picked up three goals each while freshman Stuart Madded picked up six groundballs. Sophomore Taylor Page picked up four forced turnovers while sophomore Chris Hood has 14 saves in goal.
