April 26, 2014
The Game Story:
The Lindenwood men's lacrosse team dominated from start to finish Saturday afternoon over the visiting Alderson Broaddus Battlers 26-6. The win capped off the team's 2014 campaign with a record of 5-7 and 3-4 in ECAC play. The Lions were tested early by the Battlers only leading 3-1 after the first quarter. However, from that point on there was no doubt on the outcome of the game. Seniors Brett Morrison, Jack, Rohan, and McNein Hewitt all finished their careers in memorable fashion. Morrison had two goals, Rohan added one, and Hewitt had one as well. Junior Joe Roy had a huge game with his four goals with three coming in a less than three-minute span of the second quarter. Junior long-stick midfielder Graeme Hossack had a monster game with five caused turnovers and 15 groundballs. The team as a whole had 72 groundballs to go with 42 shots on goal. Leading scorer, Brandon Stuebing also had a goal in the contest for 24 on the season. Josh Coons had a big game with a hat-trick for nine total goals this season. Local product from Arnold, Mo. senior Adam Ure got the start in the net and earned the win for his team-high third in 2014. The win was the second of the week with a home win Tuesday night against Rockhurst. This finished off the team's 2014 regular season schedule bringing the Lions' record to 5-7.
