PHILIPPI, W.Va. -- The Alderson-Broaddus men’s lacrosse team fell to Ohio Valley 13-11 Wednesday at the Multi-Sport Performance Stadium. The Fighting Scots scored 10 second half goals to overcome A-B’s 6-3 halftime lead.

"Our guys never had a lead before and did not handle it well," said Head Coach Bob Bennett. "Next time will be different."

Eric Davis (Wheeling, W.Va.) tallied a season-high four goals in the loss and goalie Jordan Hayes (Bethel Park, Pa.) had an impressive performance with 14 saves.

Ohio Valley struck first and led 1-0 with 9:47 on the clock in the first period, but the Battlers (0-10, 0-4 ECAC) answered with three straight goals by Davis, Thomas Moffat (Vancouver, British Columbia) and Anthony D’Auria (Pinehurst, N.C.) to go up 3-1.

A-B outscored the Fighting Scots (5-7, 1-3 ECAC) 3-2 in the second period and Davis tallied two more goals to give the Battlers a 6-3 lead at the half.

Kyle Aylesworth led Ohio Valley’s second half rally. He scored eight goals after the break, including the final two in the game.

Jimmy McCleery (Wheeling, W.Va.) won of 7-of-14 faceoffs for the Battlers and led the team with seven ground balls.

Six different Battlers recorded goals in the loss, including Kirk Eade (Clayton, Calif.) who followed Davis with three scores.

The Battlers return to action Sunday at the Multi-Sport Performance Stadium against non-conference foe Roberts Wesleyan. Faceoff is scheduled for 2 p.m.
