| ALFRED, NY -- The RIT men's lacrosse notched their second straight win on Saturday with a 14-6 win over Alfred University. The win improves RIT's record to 3-4 overall and 2-0 in the Empire 8. Alfred drops to 0-7 on the season and 0-3 in the Empire 8. Junior attackman David Thering (Fairport, NY/Fairport) led the Tigers with five points on three goals and a pair of assists. Junior Zach Bednarz (Webster, NY/Webster) and sophomore Stephen Papa (Niskayuna, NY/Niskayuna) each had three goals for the Tigers. Andrew Ruocco (Corning, NY/Corning East) had two goals and Colin Jesien (Cambridge, MD/Cambridge-S. Dorchester) and Joe Argese (Jordan, NY/Jordan-Elbridge) each had a goal and an assist. Sophomore John Foley (Guelph,Ontario/Our Lady of Lourdes) got the start in net, making 10 saves and allowing three goals. Brad Conlon (Ottawa,Ontario/Bridgeton Academy) relieved Foley and made seven saves, allowing two goals. Junior co-captain Alex VanderEls (Fairfax, VA/W.T. Woodson) saw action on Saturday, making three stops and allowing just one goal. RIT hosts St. John Fisher College on Wednesday, April 6 at 4 p.m. on RIT Field. |
