Alfred vs. Saint John Fisher

The Game Story:
The St. John Fisher College men's lacrosse team erupted for eight goals in the third quarter and picked up a 15-9 win at Alfred University.
With the win, Fisher moves to 10-3 overall and 4-1 in the Empire 8. It is the sixth straight year that the Cardinals have reached double digits in the win column.

The Cardinals never trailed in the game. After playing to a 2-2 tie over the first 15 minutes, Fisher took the lead for good with three straight goals in the second quarter, including two man-up tallies from Mitch Ritchie.

Fisher led 5-3 at the break, but pulled away early in the second half. The Cardinals scored five goals in the first seven minutes of third quarter, including four from senior Connor Henderson, and never looked back.

Henderson and Ritchie each finished with seven points. Henderson scored seven goals, while Ritchie totaled seven points on five goals and two assists.

Eric Klein tallied four points on one goal and three assists. All-American Kyle Denhoff chipped in with a goal and two assists, while Mike Byrnes also scored. Bryan Dyer and Joe Gaug registered an assist.

Clint Masterson won a career-high 19 faceoffs and led the Cardinals with nine ground balls. Scott Campbell added six ground balls and two caused turnovers, while Andrew Knoblauch also caused two turnovers.

Fisher will return to action at 4 p.m. on Wednesday at Nazareth College.
