The Game Story:
Center Valley, PA (March 20, 2010) Ė A tie game with eight minutes left in the fourth period saw visiting Marymount University score three straight goals en route to a 12-10 win over the DeSales University menís lacrosse team in the Bulldogs season opener on their home field on perfect Saturday afternoon in Center Valley, PA.

This game was tight throughout the entire game as neither team led by more than three goals at any time. MU (3-5 overall) out-shot DSU (1-4 overall), 36-34, and held a slim 37-36 advantage in ground balls, while the Bulldogs won 15-of-25 face-offs on the afternoon. Both goalies made 12 saves with freshman Jacob Nyenhuis (Ada, MI/Forest Hills Eastern) playing all 60 minutes for DeSales.

After junior Whit Bruemmer (Holland, PA/Council Rock South) scored with 8:08 left in the fourth period to tie the game at nine, the Saints scored three straight goals with the last coming at the one minute mark to put the game away. Freshman Billy Marsh (Flemington, NJ/Hunterdon Central) provided the final margin with his first career goal with 21 seconds left on an assist from Bruemmer.

Bruemmer led the way with four goals and three assists for seven points and also picked up five ground balls. Senior Kevin Walker (Wilmington, DE/Salesianum) added three goals, an assist, six ground balls and won 15-of-25 face-offs for the Bulldogs in the loss.

Also scoring was sophomore Michael Bassani (Califon, NY/Voorhees) with one goal and one assist, Marsh with his first career marker, and senior Jarryd Stamatelos (Cherry Hill, NJ/Cherry Hill West) with an assist. Senior Matthew Kruszewski (Atco, NJ/Winslow Township) also had a goal and sophomore Brendan Guerrier (Floral Park, NY/Chaminade) picked up a team-high 12 ground balls.
