The Game Story:
Center Valley, PA (March 28, 2009) Ė Senior Joshua Van Hart (Glen Gardner, NJ/Voorhees) and freshman Jeff Cook (Bay Shore, NY/Bay Shore) each scored four goals leading the DeSales University menís lacrosse team past Richard Stockton College, 12-9, in a non-conference game on Saturday afternoon.

The Bulldogs improve to 3-5 overall with the win, while the Ospreys fall to 5-2 overall. DSU won this game in the third quarter, erasing a one-goal halftime deficit with six third period goals to build a 10-6 lead and held on in the fourth period. Each team had 40 ground balls and Stockton enjoyed a healthy 51-32 advantage on shots but the Bulldogs keepers combined for 16 saves as opposed to just five for RSC.

DSU also won the face-off battle with junior Kevin Walker (Wilmington, DE/Salesianum) once again leading the way, winning 16-of-21 face-offs to give DSU a 17-6 advantage for the game. Walker also led the way with seven ground balls, while freshman Brendan Guerrier (Bellerose Terrace, NY/Chaminade) picked up six ground balls in the win. Junior Jarryd Stamatelos (Cherry Hill, NJ/Cherry Hill West) made 13 saves in between the pipes to lead the way.

On offense Cook had four goals and one assist, Van Hart totaled four goals, senior Matthew Brancaccio (Greenvale, NY/North Shore) added three goals and two assists, freshman Michael Bassani (Califon, NY/Voorhees) added one goal and one assist and Walker added an assist to round out the scoring.

The Bulldogs will return to action on Wednesday, April 1st when they host FDU-Florham in an MAC Conference game beginning at 4:00 pm.
