|enter Valley, PA (April 30, 2005) Ė Senior Brian Kuttler (Doylestown, PA/Archbishop Wood) became the all-time leader in scoring on Saturday afternoon in his last career game as the DeSales University menís lacrosse team finished its 2005 season with a 21-11 loss to Elizabethtown College in MAC Conference action.|
The loss moves DSU to 3-12 overall and 1-9 in the MAC to finish the year, while the Blue Jays improve to 8-7 overall and 7-3 in the MAC. The Blue Jays dominated the first half of the game out-scoring the Bulldogs, 11-2 in the first period and 17-6 in the first half to cruise home with the win.
Kuttler led the offensive attack with four goals and two assists for six points as he ends his career with 102 goals and 86 assists for 188 points. He is the fourth player in school history to score 100 goals in a career. Junior Dylan Beese (Berwick, PA/Hillsborough) also set a school-record with a 18 ground balls in the game, breaking the old mark of 14. Beese finishes with 109 ground balls this season which is also a school-record.
Junior Chris Laveglia (Medford Lakes, NJ/Shawnee) totaled three goals and one assist and freshman Frank Przybylski (Brick, NJ/Brick Township) added three goals. Freshman Jay Young (Pittstown, NJ/North Hunterdon) tallied the final goal and sophomore Jon-Erik Stamatelos (Cherry Hill, NJ/Cherry Hil West) and senior Justin Holman (Allentown, PA/Salisbury) each added assists in the loss.
