Jeffs Wrap Up Florida Trip with 15-9 Conference Win Over Trinity

PORT RICHEY, FL - The Amherst College men’s lacrosse team improved to 2-0 in conference play (3-1 overall) with Thursday’s 15-9 win over NESCAC rival Trinity College in Port Richey, Florida. The Jeffs used a balanced offensive attack with 11 different players cracking the scoring column, led by senior tri-captain Matt Margolis’ (Short Hills, NJ) three goals and two assists.

Senior tri-captain Chris Condlin (Baltimore, MD) and junior Craig McBeth (Wyckoff, NJ) added two goals apiece, while sophomores Bryan Hiller (Wantagh, NY), Colby Griffith (Lexington, MA), Josh Cherney (Chappaqua, NY) and junior Mike Allison (W. Nyack, NY) chipped in with a goal and an assist each. Sophomore Alex Casertano (Millbrook, NY) torched Trinity with a goal and two assists. First-year Kevin Boova (Summit, NJ) dished out a pair of helpers as well. Rookies Sean Murray (Madison, NJ) and Andrew Wilcox (Ancramdale, NY) and sophomore Joaquin Walker (Denver, CO) cemented the rout with a goal each.

Sophomore Cushing Donelan (Noroton, CT) was once again stellar in net with nine saves.

Amherst, ranked third in the latest New England Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (NEILA) poll, returns to action on Saturday, March 29 at 1 p.m. at conference foe Colby College.
