Babson vs. Maine Maritime

The Game Story:
BABSON PARK, Mass. -- Junior John Morrell (Wilton, Conn.) recorded three goals and four assists and junior Tim Armenta (Kennebunk, Maine) went over the 100-point mark in his career as Babson College defeated visiting Maine Maritime Academy, 21-0, in Pilgrim League menís lacrosse action on Saturday afternoon.

Babson (6-3, 2-0 Pilgrim League) jumped all over the Mariners in the first quarter, scoring 11 times to take a commanding 11-0 lead. Armenta scored one goal and assisted four others in the opening period, while Morrell added two goals and one helper. Armentaís second assist, which came on a goal by junior Ted Barbeau (Longmeadow, Mass.) with 7:48 left in the first, gave him 20 points for the season and 100 in his three-year career.

The Beavers continued to dominate in the second quarter, scoring six more goals to take a 17-0 advantage into the break. Babson then tacked on four more scores in the second half for the 21-0 final. In addition to Morrellís seven points, the Beavers received one goal and five assists from Armenta, three goals and two helpers from Barbeau, and four goals from senior tri-captain James Flavin (Littleton, Colo.).

Maine Maritime (1-6, 0-2 Pilgrim League) managed just two shots in the contest, both of which were turned away by Babson sophomore goalie Dave Frascogna (Orchard Park, N.Y.). Senior Grant Robinson (Fairfax, Va.) went the distance in net for the Mariners, making 19 saves.
