|WELLESLEY, MASS. -- The Babson College men?s lacrosse team held the visiting Massachusetts Institute
of Technology to just three second half goals on its way to an 16-9 victory in Pilgrim League action on
Tuesday night. With the win, the Beavers (8-4, 4-1 PL) clinched a spot in next week?s Pilgrim League
Babson held a slim 8-6 lead at halftime, but the Beavers? defense clamped down in the second half, holding
MIT to just two goals in the third quarter and one more in the fourth. At the other end of the field, first-year
Jared Connell (Yarmouth, Maine) tallied two goals and two assists in the final 30 minutes as Babson ran
away with the 16-9 win. Connell finished with a total of five points in the victory, while junior James
Flavin (Littleton, Colo.), sophomore Todd MacDowell (Wayland, Mass.), and senior Devin Collins
(Binghamton, N.Y.) each added four points apiece.
Junior Paul DeFina (Concord, Mass.) made 15 saves in net to lead the Babson defense, while first-year
Christopher Ng (East Meadow, N.Y.) and junior Justin Raveche (Hoboken, N.J.) combined to stop 16 shots
in goal for MIT (5-5, 2-3 PL).
