Wesleyan improved to 1-0 with the win, while the Beavers suffered their first loss to drop to 1-1. Sophomore attack Jason Ben-Eliyahu (East Setauket, N.Y.) led all players with four goals and two assists for Wesleyan, while first-year Jon Killeen (Derry, N.H.) added two goals and two helpers in the winning effort. Senior Tom Bendon (Latham, N.Y.) paced the Cardinals with a game-high eight groundballs, and senior goalie Charlie Congleton (Groton, Mass.) made 11 saves while allowing just two goals in 30 minutes in net. Sophomore E.J. Peterson (Framingham, Mass.) led Babson with two goals, while first-year goalie Chris Jacobs (Pittsford, N.Y.) came off the bench to make eight saves in 49 minutes of action. Wesleyan took control of the game early with a dominating first quarter, outscoring Babson by a count of 6-0 behind three goals and one assist from Ben-Eliyahu.
