Bates came back twice in the game. Gordon jumped out to leads of 3-0 and 4-1 early on, but the Bobcats clawed back into the game, getting a goal from Campanella 23 seconds before halftime on a Bagley assist to close the gap to 4-3, then opening the third quarter with goals from Moore and sophomore Rory Cosgrove (Pittsburgh, Pa.), both also assisted by Bagley, for their fourth straight goal, all coming on extra-man opportunities and their first lead at 5-4. Bates was 4-6 overall on EMOs.

Gordon came back with three straight, with Derechinshy sandwiching a MacIntosh goal with two of his own, putting the Scots back on top at 7-5 with 3:35 left in the third. Campanella scored 22 seconds into the fourth to close the gap to 8-7, then fed Moore with 11:40 left to even the game at 8-8. Moore made it 9-8 98 seconds later with what would become the game-winner, on a feed from Kellogg. Sophomore Garrett Kopeski (Westfield, Mass.) made it 10-8 just 31 seconds after that on a Campanella feed for his first goal of the season, and first-years Reid Whelan (Merion, Pa.) and Jason Hichborn (Yarmouth, Maine) scored their first career goals, sandwiching Moore's fourth goal of the game to make up the final score.

Bates will host Wesleyan University in a NESCAC contest on Saturday at 1 p.m.
