| The St. Lawrence University men's lacrosse team owned a 6-4 lead heading into the fourth quarter on Wednesday evening against nationally-ranked No. 19 Bowdoin at Georgetown University in Washington D.C. However, a five-goal run by the Polar Bears in the final stanza behind Billy Bergner, giving them a come-from-behind 9-6 victory over the Saints. St. Lawrence falls to 2-2 on the season, while Bowdoin (1-1) earned its first win in dramatic fashion. The victory was the first for Polar Bear head coach Jason Archbell. Though the Saints trailed 4-3 at half, the team outscored Bowdoin 3-0 in the third to take the two-goal advantage heading into the final frame. St. Lawrence simply couldn't stop their opponents momentum in the fourth, however, as Bergner's goal off a face-off win by Rob Talcott proved to be the clinching point for the Polar Bears. Senior co-captain Tucker Garfield led St. Lawrence with a pair of goals, while Mac Johnson, Pierson Fowler, Josh Robinson and Jeremy Vautour each added one. St. Lawrence will look to snap a two-game skid next Tuesday, March 19 when they face Middlebury College at Hall-Leet Stadium in Canton, NY. Game-time is scheduled for 5:00pm. |
