| Junior Kevin Rayer scored two goals and added two assists, as Cabrini College scored four times in the second quarter to put away Wesley College in a matchup of PAC unbeatens. Junior Paul Middleton and seniors Dave Barba and Rory Friel all added a pair of goals for the Cavaliers (6-3, 4-0 PAC), and sophomore Kevin Quinn made 11 saves to earn the victory. Jim McCleaft made 16 saves in a losing effort for the Wolverines (5-4, 3-1 PAC). After the teams traded goals in the first quarter, Rayer and Middleton combined to give the Cavaliers breathing room in the second stanza. Rayer assisted on a goal by Matt McKinney with 12:42 remaining before the half to give Cabrini a 2-1 lead. Middleton extended the lead to 3-1 six minutes later. With 2:48 remaining in the half, Rayer scored unassisted. Middleton finished the four-goal run with 1:24 to play in the quarter, converting a feed from Rayer. Wesley got within three four minutes into the second half, but the Cavaliers reposnded with seven straight goals to claim a double-digit lead with just under three minutes to play in the contest. Wesley scored two late goals to set the final score. Mark Skakle scored a pair of goals to lead the Wolverines. |
