|The Game Story:|
|It might not have been as they envisioned, but a win over a solid opponent when you don?t play your best could be
a great sign and a motivating factor. The Green Terror showed tremendous offensive firepower, but lacked
defensive intensity in topping Cabrini 17-14.
WMC opened strong out of the gates and built a 5-1 lead after one period of play. From that point the Cavaliers made things interesting as their offense came to life. However the outcome would never be in doubt. The Green Terror put the game away for good late in the fourth period when they scored 2 goals within a 1 minute span to push a 3 goal lead up to 5.
The attack was led by the All American duo of Tom Brown (Laurel MD/ Hammond) and Joe Ellis (Columbia MD/ Oakland Mills). Brown scored a team high 4 goals and assisted on another. Ellis played an outstanding all around game scoring 3 goals and assisting on 6 others. Stepping in this season as the third attacker, freshman Rob Weaver (Laurel MD/ St. Vincent Pallotti) was impressive in his debut netting 3 goals.
The #16 Green Terror will return to action on Wednesday when to return to Grantham PA to take on Messiah College.
