The Game Story:
RADNOR, Pa. (April 30) – The Cavaliers scored the first eight goals of the contest as the top-seeded Cabrini College men’s lacrosse team defeated fourth-seed Marywood University 19-1 this afternoon in the semi-finals of the 2008 PAC Championships. The seventh-ranked Cavaliers improve 15-2 while the Pacers drop to 9-5.

Cabrini will host second-seed Eastern University on Saturday, May 3 at 3:30 p.m. for the title contest. The Cavaliers will be looking for their eighth straight PAC championship and 64th conference win under head coach Steve Colfer.

Junior Scott Reimer led Cabrini with six goals and sophomore Rich Romanelli added four. Three other players tallied two goals a piece and sophomore Casey Grugan and freshman Paul Skulski each recorded two assists.

The Cavaliers opened the game with eight unanswered scores before Marywood tallied its lone goal of the contest with 12:07 remaining in the second quarter.

Cabrini held a 15-1 lead at the half before claiming the victory.

Junior Kevin Fahey won a team-best seven face-offs while classmate Mike Dolente finished 6-of-6 in the category.

Junior Bobby Chambers made the start in the net for Cabrini, recording two saves, while junior Kevin Chenoweth played the second half with five saves.

The Cavaliers recorded 61 shots to the Pacers’ 10 and held a 49-25 advantage in ground balls.
