The Game Story:
Castletonís winning streak ended at seven games

Castleton, VT-The Castleton State College menís lacrosse team saw its seven game winning streak come to an end at the hands of Plymouth State University, 16-3 in non-conference action.

Plymouth State held a 3-1 lead after the first period as Tony Aguiar, Adam Krinsky and Brian Giroux each scored for the 8-5 Panthers. Derek Riley scored Castletonís lone first period goal.

The Panthers controlled play for much of the second period, scoring four goals before Castletonís Brett Quillia answered with his 12th of the season. Tim Hadley tacked on the fifth Panther goal of the period with 15 seconds remaining to give Plymouth State an 8-2 halftime lead. Hadley tallied three in the period, and Adam Rothbart added the other two.

The second half saw Plymouth State pull away for good, out-scoring the hosts 8-1 over the final 30 minutes of play. Giroux and Hadley led the Panthers with three goals apiece.

Krinsky added five assist to his lone goal, giving him 15 goals and 28 points on the season. His 43 points this give him 201 for his career, making him the sixth player in Plymouth State history to achieve the milestone.

Kirk Bolduc rounded out the Castleton scoring, as the Spartans fall to 10-5 on the season.

Christopher Wynne took the loss in the goal for Castleton, allowing nine goals while stopping six shots. Michael Mamunes took over and allowed seven goals, and made four saves.

Plymouth Stateís Billy Morgan stopped five shots (all in the first period) to earn the win. Kevin Hayes played the final period and recorded two saves for the Panthers.

Castleton will wrap up its regular season on when the Spartans play host to Green Mountain College at 4:00 pm.

Plymouth State plays host to New England College on Thursday at 4:00 pm
