Centenary vs. Immaculata

The Game Story:
HACKETTSTOWN, N.J. - Immaculata's men's lacrosse team was dropped by fellow Colonial States Athletic Conference foe Centenary, 15-11, Saturday afternoon.

John Cacchio led the Mighty Macs with three goals and one assist while Dante Tuscai also tallied three scores. Joe Keller added two goals and one assists, Brendan Dinneen amassed two goals and Tom Hartney finished with one goal and one assist.

Immaculata (3-9, 1-4 CSAC) keeper Andrew Sim made nine saves between the pipes in the loss.

Centenary (5-7, 3-2 CSAC) tallied the first five goals of the contest before Immaculata got on the scoreboard as Keller scored unassisted with just 12 seconds left in the first quarter. The Cyclones led 9-3 at halftime with four of its goals from Jason Rieg.

Tuscai tallied his hat trick all in the third quarter as Immaculata outscored Centenary 6-1 during the first 13:39. The Mighty Macs six goals had narrowed their deficit to 10-9 with 1:21 remaining in the third.

The Cyclones scored with 28 ticks remaining in the third and one minutes into the fourth to up its lead to 12-9. The Mighty Macs again chipped away at the lead with back-to back tallies. Cacchio netted his third goal with 13:20 remaining, and Dinneen found the back of the net with 10:43 left in the contest, as Immaculata trailed just 12-11.

However, Centenary's Travis Roy scored the final three goals of the contest for the 15-11 victory.

Rieg recorded a game-high five goals and three assists while Joe Swantkoski registered four goals and two assists. Cyclones' goalie Brian Troilo made just seven saves in the win.

Immaculata plays its final game of the 2009 season next Saturday when it hosts Neumann at Draper Walsh Stadium at 1 p.m.
