The Game Story:
WORCESTER, MASS. 03/19/09 - Senior Chris Wesche (Holden, Mass.) and junior Chris Guilherme (Derry, N.H.) tallied four goals apiece and junior goalkeeper Sean Tobin (Silver Spring, Md.) stopped 18 shots to lift Wentworth Institute of Technology to a 9-4 victory over Clark University in non-conference men's lacrosse action on Thursday night at Granger Field.

Wentworth evened its record at 1-1, while Clark fell to 0-4 overall.

Clark's Chris Johnson (Amherst, Mass.) scored the first two goals of the game to stake out an early 2-0 lead after 10 minutes in the half. But WIT took command of the game, outscoring the Cougars, 5-0, to build a 5-2 advantage after two periods. Wesche scored three goals, including two extra-man markers, during the uprising.

Wesche recorded his fourth goal of the game minutes into the third quarter to increase the Leopard lead to 6-2.

Junior Garrett McAdam (Portland, Maine) scored his first goal of the season at the 2:05 mark of the third to trim the deficit in half (3-6), but the Leopards scored three of the final four goals to earn the victory.

Clark outshot Wentworth 36-30 and held a commanding 33-19 advantage in groundballs. However, the Cougars failed to convert on all five extra-man opportunities.

Senior Tyler Campbell (Portland, Ore.) made eight saves in goal for Clark.

Clark will travel to UMass-Dartmouth for a non-conference game on Saturday (1 p.m.).
