The Game Story:
WORCESTER, MASS. 04/11/09 - Freshman Mike Harrington (Sturbridge, Mass.) scored four goals, including three straight during the decisive third period, to lead Wheaton College to a 14-6 victory over Clark University in a Pilgrim League men's lacrosse game played on a rainy Saturday afternoon at Granger Field.

Wheaton wins its second straight and improves to 2-6 overall and 2-1 in league play. Clark drops to 2-9 (1-2 Pilgrim).

Owning a slim 3-1 lead, the Lyons outscored Clark 9-1 in the third period to take a commanding 12-2 advantage. After the teams traded goals early in the quarter, Wheaton's Billy McNamara (Mansfield, Mass.) found the back of the net to go up 5-2 at the 11:12 mark. Then Harrington scored the next three within a 3:31 span to push the visitors lead up to 8-2.

Wheaton tallied the last four goals of the period, including markers by sophomores Duncan Smith (Centerport, N.Y.) and Ben Cederberg (Duxbury, Mass.) just 33 seconds apart, for a 12-2 margin.

Clark closed the gap on goals by freshmen Phil Winslow (North Providence, R.I.) and Chris Johnson (Amherst, Mass.) and sophomore Eugene Arsenault (South Portland, Me.) in the first eight minutes of the fourth quarter, but could only pull within seven (13-6) on sophomore Hakeem Hindi's (Houston, Tx.) first career goal at the 1:59 mark. Hindi recorded his first collegiate point when he assisted on Arsenault's goal earlier in the period.

McNamara scored three goals for Wheaton, while Cederberg added a pair and a game-high four assists. Junior Tim Horan (Chesire, Conn.) also chipped in with two goals.

Senior Shawn Roche (Centerport, N.Y.), Johnson, Winslow, Arsenault, Hindi and sophomore Kyle Klapp (Schenectady, N.Y.) each tallied single goals for Clark.
