Clarkson vs. Oswego State

The Game Story:
Oswego, NY: The Oswego State men^s lacrosse team dropped a 5-3 decision against Clarkson University on Sunday, March 23rd in a non-conference tilt played at Coyne Field on the Syracuse University Campus. The Golden Knights controlled the tempo of the game running a deliberate

offense that kept the ball away from the Lakers. Clarkson ended up outshooting Oswego State in the game 31-9.

Oswego State opened the scoring as Tim McNulty scored 1:55 into the game with Jeff Cottet (East Syracuse) setting up the goal with an assist. The Golden Knights netted the next two scores of the period with A.J. Heiligman getting the first with 5:25 left before the end of the period and then Ryan McCarthy made it 2-1 Clarkson. McCarthy^s goal came with 1:41 left in the period.

The teams traded goals in the second period with Brian Dautrich (Auburn) scoring for the Laker and Sean Pearce getting on the board for the Golden Knights.

Clarkson got a goal from Patrick Ryan in the third quarter to extend its lead to 5-2 and the Lakers were only able to get as close as one goal when Tony Lavigne scored with 7:27 left in the game. Oswego State goalie Mike Nolan (Auburn) had a solid game making 13 saves, while Clarkson keeper Joe Zebrowski made three. The loss put the Lakers at 2-3 on the season, while the Golden Knights improved to 4-1.

Oswego State will be back in action on Tuesday, March 25th at St. Lawrence University.
