The Game Story:
The final game of the Clarkson University Lacrosse team's spring trip in Florida ended a on a high note for the Golden Knights as the Green and Gold defeated Plymouth State 12-5 in Orlando on Wednesday night.

The Golden Knights, who snapped out of a four-game season-opening losing skid, return to the North Country to face defending Division III national champion, Cortland State on Saturday in a 3:00 p.m. game at SUNY Potsdam's artifical turf field.

Clarkson led from the start against Plymouth State and held a 5-2 advantage after the opening 30 minutes. The Knights out scored the Panthers 4-1 in the third quarter and cruise in the final frame to post the seven-goal victory.

Sophomores Tom Ross (Adams, NY) and Greg Gibbons (Baldwinsville, NY) led the offensive charge. Ross tallied three goals and one assist, while Gibbons racked up five points on two goals and three assists. Classmates. Junior Jamie Merritt (Ballston Spa, NY) and sophomore Brian Hoey (Auburn, NY) chipped in two scores.

Junior Steve Kennedy (Niskayuna, NY) tallied one goal and three assists. Sophomore Jon Cathcart (Homer, NY) and Erik Hilfinger (Ann Arbor, MI) scored one goal each.

Junior Greg Lamb (Baldwinsville, NY) played the majority of the game in the Knights' goal and posted 11 saves. Sophomore John Svoren (Canisius, NY) made two stops over the final three minutes
