The Game Story:
Potsdam, NY - An explosive fourth-quarter surge lifted the Clarkson University Lacrosse team to a 12-9 victory over league foe Skidmore College at Hantz Field in the final game of the regular season. The Upstate Collegiate Athletic Association (UCAA) Champions, the Golden Knights own an 11-1 overall record, including a perfect 6-0 mark in the league. Ranked 11th in the country, Clarkson will carry a six-game winning streak into the opening round of the NCAA Tournament. The Knights' opponent and the site of Wednesday's opening round of play in the Division III tournament will be announced Sunday night.

Trailing 8-6 entering the fourth quarter, the Knights behind the play of juniors Marty Reid (Hamburg, NY) and Jim Lavelle (Hamburg, NY) and sophomore Sean Pearce (Auburn, NY) outscored the Thoroughbreds 6-1 over the final 15 minutes to pull out the victory. Reid, who recorded eight points in the win, scored three of his game-high six goals in the final stanza, including the go-ahead goal, which put the Green and Gold on top 9-8 with 8:40 to play. Lavelle scored six points on three goals and three assists, while Pearce, who scored both of his goals in the fourth quarter, contributed five points. Senior Mike Storms (Adams, NY) added Clarkson's other goal.

Freshman Joe Zebrowski (Liverpool, NY) posted 11 saves in the Clarkson goal.

Junior Andy Meehan and freshman Brendan Bellefeuille led the Skidmore attack with two goals each. Senior Tim Harvey made 14 stops for the Thoroughbreds, who close out the year with an 8-5 overall record and a 3-3 mark in the UCAA.
