| TAMPA, FL -- Junior attack Dan Myerow (Sudbury, MA/Lincoln-Sudbury) scored just 1:36 into overtime to lift Union to a 9-8 men's lacrosse triumph over Colby College Monday. Myerow, who also added an assist in the victory, improved the Dutchmen to 3-2 with their second straight overtime victory. Mike Sparico (Riverside, CT/Greenwich) scored four goals with an assist for Union, while tri-captain Pete Gross (Larchmont/Salisbury) scored two goals and dished out two assists for the victors. David Conelias (Cheshire, MA/Cheshire) also scored for Union, and Tom Simmons (Salisbury, CT/Salisbury) had two assists. Will Tamm (Millbrook, NY/Lawrenceville) made 11 saves for Union. Colby outshot the Dutchmen, 26-24. Union trailed 5-2 at halftime, and 7-5 after three periods, but scored three times in the fourth stanza prior to the extra session. Union will return to action against Bowdoin Wednesday in Orlando. |
