| COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Junior attacker Jesse Porter-Henry scored four
goals and added two assists, while junior attacker Brady Iandiorio had two
goals and five assists to lead Division III Colorado College to a 12-4
victory over DI College of the Holy Cross Thursday afternoon at CC's
Washburn Field. First-year head coach David Zazzaro picked up his first
victory in his CC debut.
The Tigers built a 5-3 lead at the half, then extended the lead to 9-3 with third period goals by freshman Eliott Weiner, Porter-Henry, junior attacker Chris Russell and sophomore attacker Mike Turner. Dave McWilliams scored for the Crusaders five minutes into the fourth quarter, only to see Porter-Henry score twice more before sophomore midfielder Tim Atkinson closed out the scoring with an unassisted goal. Russell and Turner finished the game with two goals apiece, while senior midfielder Nick Stephens added a pair of assists for the Tigers. McWilliams led the Crusaders with a pair of goals, and Mike McKee had three assists. Senior goalkeeper Alex Ficken made 18 saves for Colorado College, while Brian Hodgdon had 21 stops for the Crusaders. Colorado College (1-0) will be back in action on Sunday, March 10, when the Tigers travel to Las Vegas to face Haverford College. |
