NEW LONDON, Conn. - The Bowdoin College Polar Bears improved to 6-0 with a 9-4 victory over Connecticut College (1-5, 0-3) in NESCAC men^s lacrosse action Saturday afternoon. Senior Ford Gurall netted two of five Bowdoin first period goals, leading the visiting Bears to victory. Sophomore Connor Fitzgerald chipped in with one goal and two assists en route to a three-point afternoon for the visitors. Sophomore goalie Grant White made 11 stops in net for Bowdoin. Topher Grossman had 18 saves for the Camels.

Leading 3-0 in the first period, Gurall erupted for two goals just 53 seconds apart to put the Bears on top 5-0 after one period. In the second quarter, Jess Williams finally put the Camels on the board with an unassisted score with 4:51 remaining in the half. Freshman Jordan Yearsley made it a 6-2 contest, netting a goal 2:32 into the third quarter off a feed from Ryan Voccola. But the Polar Bears netted the next three scores, and built a 9-2 lead after a goal from Chris Eaton with 3:08 left in the third. Shane Kaiser and Andy Shopneck added fourth period goals for the hosts but Bowdoin was able to hang on to the 9-4 victory.
