The Game Story:
NEW LONDON, Conn.--Tufts University (5-0, 2-0) collected a 9-5 victory at Connecticut College (0-5, 0-4) Wednesday afternoon. Clem McNally (Far Hills, N.J.) tallied a hat-trick with three scores and senior midfielder Chris Connelly chipped in with two goals for the Jumbos, who are ranked #9 in the latest USILA Division III Poll. Junior midfielder Matt Flanagan (Somerset, N.J.) tallied two goals for the Camels. Sean Driscoll (Peabody, Mass.) had a goal and an assist for the hosts.

The Jumbos took a 3-2 lead after one quarter of play. Tight defense and terrific goaltending on both sides kept both teams off the board for the most of the second quarter. With 10 seconds remaining in the half, Chase Bibby (Marblehead, Mass.) fed Clem McNally for a one-timer and the Jumbos had a 4-2 lead at the intermission. McNally provided the only goal of the third quarter and Tufts had a 5-2 lead as the teams headed into the final 15 minutes of regulation.

With 12:33 to play, Camel sophomore Jesse Stevenson (Marblehead, Mass.) tallied his sixth score of the season for the hosts to make it a 5-3 contest. But McNally had all of the answers on this day and added his third goal of the afternoon with 11:34 remaining to push Tufts lead to three, 6-3. The visitors were able to hang on for the 9-5 victory.

Sophomore Matt Harrigan (Darnestown, Md.) stopped 10 shots in net for the Jumbos. Mark Moran (Greenwich, Conn.) had nine saves and four ground balls in goal for the hosts.

Connecticut College will travel to Amherst for a 1:00 p.m. game Saturday afternoon. The Jumbos will host Trinity for a 1:00 p.m. game in Medford.
