Denison vs. Wittenberg

The Game Story:
GRANVILLE, OHIO-- Ten Denison players scored at least one goal and Craig Pastor (Columbus, Ohio/Upper Arlington) and Jason Anderson (Denver, Colo./East) both finished with hat tricks to lead the Big Red to their second victory of the season over Wittenberg Tuesday night.

Junior Tom Moschos (Worchester, Mass./St. Mark's) got the Big Red into the scoring column just 1:48 into the first quarter with his sixth goal of the season. Senior Greg Mavraganis (Lancaster, Pa./Hempfield) would counter Moschos' goal three minutes later for his team-high 11th goal of the season to give Denison a 2-0 advantage.

Wittenberg's Eric Stenholm got the Tigers on the board with a goal at the 8:36 mark and that would be all of the scoring in the first quarter.

From then on Denison would rattle off 13 unanswered goals en route to a 15-2 victory over the Tigers. Pastor's first goal, Denison's fourth of the game, came on an assist from senior Kevin Sullivan (Timonium, Md./Boys Latin School). Sullivan would add a goal of his own in the fourth quarter. He leads Denison in points with six goals and nine assists.

Sophomore attack man Brad Seifert (Alexandria, Va./St. Stephen' s) scored his seventh and eighth goals of the 2003 campaign in the second and fourth quarter, respectively to help the Big Red cause. Also getting in on the scoring was Yianni Savoulidis (Maplewood, N.J./Columbia), Lou Sorgi (Norwell, Mass./Thayer), Dean Scontras (Cape Elizabeth, Maine), and Ted Douglass (Denver, Colo./Kent).

Denison outshot Wittenberg 35-20 and had 20 groundballs compared to the Tigers' 16. Wittenberg edged the Big Red in face-off's, winning 7-of-12 and neither team was able to net an extra-man goal.

Denison will travel to Greensboro, N.C. to face Greensboro College on Sunday, April 6 at 1 p.m. Their next home game will be on Saturday, April 12 when they square off against North Coast Athletic Conference rival, Ohio Wesleyan. Gametime is also scheduled for 1 p.m.
