Dickinson vs. Haverford

The Game Story:
(Carlisle, Pa.) – The #2-ranked Dickinson men's lacrosse team improved to 10-0 on the season, dodging Haverford College, 9-8, on Saturday. The Red Devils improve to 3-0 in the Centennial Conference.

Haverford scored on an early extra-man opportunity as Henry Millson scored off an assist from Dan Lo Sardo, just 1:47 into the contest.

The 'Fords kept the Devils off the scoreboard for the better part of the first quarter, before a four-goal run put Dickinson in front, 4-1, in a span of one minute and thirty-nine seconds.

Brian Cannon (Reisterstown, Md./Loyola Blakefield) started things off as senior long pole defender Peter Zouck (Baltimore, Md./Gilman) picked-up a ground ball and went the length of the field before handing out the assist.

Will Scott (Emmaus, Pa./Emmaus) struck twice, scoring off assists from first-year Chris Menard (South Hadley, Mass./South Hadley) and Cannon at the 4:16 and 3:28 marks. Scott returned the favor, feeding Cannon with 3:20 on the clock.

Jack Bodine dished out a pair of assists to cut the deficit to 4-3 at halftime. The 'Fords pulled even on a Henry Millson tally at the 6:38 mark of the third quarter.

Senior long pole midfielder Brandon Palladino (Basking Ridge, N.J./Ridge) made a great play to gain possession and fed Cannon at the 3:29 mark for a 5-4 advantage.

Haverford answered as Geoff Geppert scored his second goal of the game, just over a minute later.

The Devils scored the only two goals of the third period, finding the net at both ends of the period. Menard found the net with an assist from Cannon and Tyler White (Philadelphia, Pa./Penn Charter) gave Dickinson a two-goal lead with 19 seconds on the clock.

Geppert fed Christian Clay for an extra-man goal with 13:05 to play and matched goals with Cannon to make the score, 8-7, Dickinson with 7:28 to play in regulation. Rob Kendall (Sewickley, Pa./Sewickley) tallied the assist on Cannon's goal.

Scott broke free and scored unassisted to give the Devils another two goal cushion. Jake Maldonado kept things interesting, scoring off an assist from Millson with 1:31 remaining.

The Devils were able to gain possession and run out the clock, drawing a pair of penalties in the final minute.

Cannon led the attack with four goals and two assists while Scott tallied a hat-trick and an assist. Junior Carter Moore (Virginia Beach, Va./Norfolk Academy) won 14-of-21 face-offs and controlled six ground balls.

Parker Waldron (Kinnelon, N.J./Kinnelon) added four GBs, as did defenders Draper Donley (Lutherville, Md./St. Paul's School) and Zouck, who also combined for five caused turnovers.

Greg Hanley (Laurel Hollow, N.Y./Cold Spring Harbor) made seven saves and controlled three GBs.

Geppert led Haverford (4-6, 1-3) with three goals and an assist. John Shipper won seven face-offs and Eric Claiendo made 12 saves in the loss.
