Dickinson vs. Muhlenberg

The Game Story:
(Carlisle, Pa.)- The Dickinson College men's lacrosse team dropped a 10-8 decision to visiting Muhlenberg on Wednesday afternoon.

Muhlenberg scored a pair of goals to open the game before the Devils answered to end the first quarter tied, 2-2. The defenses continued to hold in the second as Muhlenberg pulled in front 4-2 before Chris Dodson (Bethesda, Md./Landon) scored off a Casey Finkelstein (Owings Mills, Md./McDonogh) assist to make the score 4-3 at halftime.

The Mules started the second half with a 4-0 run to stretch the margin to 8-3 with 8:54 remaining in the third period. Derek Still (Oreland, Pa./Penn Charter) and Sam Greenburg (Owings Mills, Md./McDonogh) scored back-to-back to pull the Devils within three at 8-5.

Still answered another Mulhenberg tally to make the score 9-6 at the end of the third.

Dodson struck early in the fourth off an assist from Dewey Dubord (Freeport, Maine/Governor Dummer). Still netted his third of the day at the 11:42 mark to close out the scoring.

The Devils continued to battle, finishing with 52 shots on the day. Mike Horowitz stopped 24 shots in the Mule cage.

Senior Russell Matthews (Chestertown, Md./Kent County) made 12 saves and controlled five ground balls for the Devils.

Dodson and Greenburg each finished with two goals while Ted Sirvaitis (Greenwich, Conn./Greenwich) added a goal and an assist.

Pat Curley (Ellicott City, Md./Mt. St. Joseph) won 11-of-17 face-offs and controlled four GBs. Shea Licata (Manhasset, N.Y./Manhasset) won 4-of-5 on the day.

Chris Breslin (Garden City, N.Y./Garden City) controlled four ground balls as well while Aaron Gittleman (Katonah, N.Y./Avon Old Farm) picked-up three GBs and caused a pair of turnovers.

The Red Devils slip to 5-6 overall and 1-4 in the Centennial Conference. They travel to Washington College for a 4:00 face-off with the Shoremen.
