The Game Story:
ST. DAVIDS, PA - The top-seeded Eastern Eagles jumped out to an early 6-0 lead and never looked back, knocking off the third-seeded College at Florham Devils by a score of 15-6 in the Freedom Conference Tournament Finals on Thursday afternoon.

With the loss, the Devils finish their season with a record of 8-8 while the Eagles improved to 12-4 and will now go on to play Widener for the Middle Atlantic Conference's automatic NCAA Tournament berth.

The two teams were scoreless for the first half of the first quarter but the Eagles tallied three goals in the last 5:11 of the first to take a 3-0 lead into the second quarter. Eastern then scored three more goals to grab a 6-0 advantage before senior midfielder Paul Colflesh got the Devils on the board with back-to-back goals to close the deficit to 6-2 with 4:26 remaining in the first half. Eastern came right back though, scoring the final two goals of the half to take an 8-2 lead into the break.

Senior attack Brian Goodwine made it 8-3 just 3:40 into the third quarter but the Eagles answered with five straight goals to go increase their lead to 13-3 with 9:24 to go in the fourth quarter. Senior midfielder Adam Koontz pulled FDU to within 13-5 with 7:56 left but Eastern got those two goals back to push their lead back to ten, 15-5, with 5:00 to play. Koontz scored the final goal of the game with 0:12 left to reach the final score of 15-6.

Koontz finished the game with three goals and two assists while Colflesh added two goals. Sophomore goalkeeper George Beck suffered the loss, making 11 saves.
