ECSU MEN?S LACROSSE WINS 27th STRAIGHT HOME MATCH 11-4 Warriors limit Trinity to 14 shots; DiGiovanni scores four in victory

WILLIMANTIC, Conn. -- The Eastern Connecticut State University men?s lacrosse team limited Trinity College to one goal through the first 26 minutes in winning at Thomas Nevers Field for the 27th consecutive time 11-4 Wednesday.

Ranked fifth in New England, Eastern (6-2) held the Bantams (1-5) to just 14 shots on goal -- five in the first half -- while recording 42 of its own. The Warriors have won 27 straight matches on their home field, last losing a 10-9 overtime decision to Trinity here April 28, 1998. ECSU has beaten Trinity four times since that loss.

Junior attack Marc DiGiovanni (WILTON) led Eastern with four goals and an assist, junior attack Kristopher McQuarrie (LONDONDERRY, NH) adding three goals. Ten different players had either a goal or assist. DiGiovanni has a team-leading 20 goals and 18 assists this year.

Junior goalie Mark Hayes (FAIRFIELD) made four saves in winning his 22nd career decision in 26 starts.

Eastern resumes Little East Conference play Saturda at Massachusetts Boston at 1 p.m. The defending LEC regular-season and playoff champions are 2-0 this year in the conference.
