Elmira vs. Keuka

The Game Story:
Elmira, NY -- The Elmira College Soaring Eagles Men’s Lacrosse team put together a dominant performance in Wednesday afternoon’s non-conference match-up against Keuka College. The Purple and Gold would go on to win the contest, 20-5, in route to their second win of the 2010 season.

The Storm would notch the first goal in the game, but the Soaring Eagles would answer with 13 unanswered scores in the first half. Brad Levick ’10 (Newmartket, ONT -- St. Andrews College) and Dan Frost ’10 (Bow, NH -- Bow) would lead the Elmira offense in the half with three goals each.

The second half would be much of the same for the two teams. Keuka College would tally the first score of the half, scored by Mike Crumlish ’13, but the Soaring would respond with six more consecutive goals to push the game out of reach. Kenny Keirstead ’11 (Waltham, MA -- Waltham) would score three goals in the third period for the Purple and Gold. The game would conclude with a final score of 20-5.

For the contest, TJ White ’12 (Collegeville, PA -- Methacton) would lead all players with 6 total points (3 goals, 3 assists). Levick and Frost would tally 2 assists to go along with their 3 goals for EC. In goal for the Soaring Eagles was Geoffrey Lane ’10 (Pennington, NJ -- Pennington School). Lane played a solid game between the posts producing 8 saves, while allowing only 2 goals in his 42:56 minutes of work.

The Storm was led offensively by Mark Butto ’13. Butto registered 3 total points in the contest, 2 goals and 1 assist.

Elmira College will look for similar results as the team takes the field again Saturday afternoon against RPI at 1:00 p.m.
