The Game Story:
POTSDAM - The SUNY Potsdam Bears did not allow schedule and location changes to upset their winning momentum as they defeated Elmira 13-9 late Sunday afternoon. The Bears now advance to 5-1 overall while Elmira drops to 1-6. The 4 p.m. game, which was originally scheduled for 1p.m. Saturday at Elmira, was finally played on the Syracuse High School field.

Leading the Bears' scoring was Erik Lemelbaum (Syracuse/Nottingham) with 5 goals followed by Eric Lehman (Lowville/Lowville) with 3 goals and 2 assists. Jed Hammill (Brasher Falls/ St. Lawrence Central) added 1 goal and 3 assists while Evan Cree (Akwesasne/ Salmon River) tallied 2 and 1. Josh Hickey (Carthage/ Carthage) and Kevin Keegan (Cortland/Cortland) each added single goals. Goalkeeper Ryan Hanretty (Williamsville/ Williamsville South) collected 17 saves in the win.

Elmira's scoring was led by Christopher Burt (Horseheads/ Williamson-Northampton) with 3 goals followed by Andrew Slotnick (Marion, MA/ Williston-Northampton) with 2 goals. Goalkeeper Kevin Welinsky (Baltimore,MD/ Friends) gets the loss for Elmira

The Bears will return to action on Wednesday, April 9th when they host Oswego at 4 p.m. for their fourth SUNYAC match-up of the year.
