Elmira vs. Saint John Fisher

The Game Story:
The St. John Fisher College men's lacrosse team defeated Elmira College 18-8 in a conference matchup on Wednesday afternoon in Elmira. Fisher has now won five-straight games and today's win moves its record to 6-2 overall and 2-0 in the Empire 8.

The Cardinals controlled the game early, scoring the contests first six goals before Elmira finally got on the board with just over a minute left in the opening quarter. Fisher added five goals in the second and third quarters, taking an 11-1 lead into the locker room, before slowing down for just two scores in the final period.

Mitch Ritchie and Kyle Denhoff led the Cardinals with four goals apiece, with Ritchie adding an assist. Connor Henderson continued to be the most balanced attacker for Fisher, netting three goals while distributing for three assists.

Bryan Dyer and Michael Boisvert each had two goals while Dyer had an assist on one of Henderson's scores. Kory Smart, Nick Rossi and Jeff Wester rounded out the scoring for the Cardinals, each finishing with one goal.

Jamie Campagna got the start in goal for Fisher, playing 30 minutes to earn the win with six saves while Clint Masterson went 11-for-15 on face-offs.

Fisher will return to action at 1 p.m. on Saturday as it hosts Stevens Institute of Technology in an attempt to continue its win streak.
