| BEVERLY, MA - Justin Simon (Canaan, NH/Holderness) scored four goals to power Bates College past Endicott College, 14-10, Saturday afternoon in non-conference lacrosse action. Burt Fahy (Needham, MA/Needham) recorded a hat trick for Endicott in the season opener for both teams. Bates played mistake-free lax and got two goals apiece from Matt Erisman (Nantucket, MA/Nantucket), Mike Medeiros (Concord, MA/B.C. High) and Wes Couture (South Hadley, MA/Avon Old Farms). The Bobcats took an 8-3 lead into halftime and led 10-5 after three quarters. The hosts hit their stride in the final 15 minutes of play hit but could not erase the large deficit. Gulls' freshman Brandon Dube (Danvers, MA/Danvers) and senior Kevin Lally (Derry, NH/Pinkerton) each scored two goals. Dube also dished out four assists and Lally added two helpers. Andrew Harding (Niskayuna, NY/Niskayuna) Parker Sowles (Cumberland, ME/Kents Hill) and Josh Gilbert (Simsbury, CT/Simsbury) scored one goal apiece for Endicott, which is back in action next Saturday when it hosts Wesleyan University - also in the NESCAC. |
